With a switch lined into the interchange portion of Union Pacific’s yard, the Rock and Rail begins the simple task of dropping off cars full of cement for forwarding out of Pueblo.

Today’s Rock and Rail traverses the s-curves on its way into the former Rio Grande yard in Pueblo while stored covered hoppers sit parked to the left and the Rockies stand tall in the back.

The always early Rock and Rail continues the run into Pueblo with 20 cars bound for interchange with the BNSF at the UP yard a little over a mile away.
